In this role you will design and oversee Ebury’s global sanctions and export controls framework to safeguard regulatory and reputational risk while enabling international growth. You will lead a global compliance team, engage with regulators, and report to executive leadership and the board. You’ll shape risk appetite, optimize screening systems, and drive cross-border initiatives in a fast-paced fintech environment. This is a strategic leadership position at the nexus of compliance and business expansion, offering a meaningful impact on how we operate globally.

• Design and maintain the general sanctions and export controls framework and risk appetite, aligned with expansion goals across jurisdictions
• Oversee export control protocols for trade finance and cross-border payments, including screening for dual-use, end-use, and restricted trade
• Lead and develop a global team of sanctions managers and advisory officers
• Provide data-driven risk reporting to the board and executive leadership on exposure and regulatory developments
• Manage relationships with regulators and authorities; respond to inquiries,



audits, and exams
• Serve as final escalation authority for complex, high-risk issues involving multi-jurisdictional law and trade finance
• Collaborate with Financial Crime Tech and Product teams to optimize screening platforms and reduce false positives

Responsabilidades
• 10+ years of deep subject matter expertise in financial crime with global sanctions/export controls leadership
• Master-level understanding of global sanctions regimes (OFAC, OFSI, EU, UN) and export control frameworks
• Experience in leading diverse, globally distributed compliance teams
• Ability to align regulatory requirements with fast-paced commercial objectives
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior executives and regulators
