The FTTH Council Europe is an industry association with a mission to promote the deployment, adoption and enhancement of full fibre networks, connecting everyone and everything across Europe.

We advocate the benefits of fibre connectivity as a strategic infrastructure, enabling current and future digital services which are essentials for a sustainable, sovereign and prosperous Europe.

Our 180 members represent the entire fibre networks value-chain: vendors of passive and active equipment, software and services, network operators, investors, consultants and non-profit organisations. Operator members (among which you will find: Iliad , Vodafone Group, Colt, Bouygues Telecom, City Fiber, Netomnia, Deutsche Glasfaser, Open Fiber, Premium Fiber, Onivia , Siro, UKR Telecom, Turk Telekom …) represent a very significant proportion of fibre networks deployed in Europe.

As Public Affairs Manager, you will contribute to the definition of our Public Affairs policy and be directly in charge of our advocacy actions vis a vis EU Institutions. You will also coordinate and support the activities of the Policy & Regulation Committee.

You will be joining our association at a crucial time when our influence is growing, while we are undertaking an important strategic adaptation to the evolution of our industry.

Under the supervision of a very active Board, and directly reporting to the Director General , you will be an essential member of a the dynamic management team which drives the multiple activities of the Council.

Public Affairs Manager: job description and prerequisites

Your role

- Reporting to the Director General

- Defining and implementing the Council’s advocacy action plan, with focus on EU Commission Parliament and Council.





- Promoting the FTTH Council’s representation at events to develop our positions

- Manage the relations with other industry associations with whom we partner for common advocacy activities and in the context of the FTTH Conference

- Strategic Intelligence on relevant public affairs topics.

- Coordinating and supporting the work of Policy & Regulation Committee which regroups representatives of our members directly involved in public affairs. The Committee discusses and drafts the positions of the FTTH Council, reacting to consultations from the EU Commission and the regulators. It works under the supervision of the Board of Directors which defines our guiding advocacy principles in alignment with our mission.

- Coordination with the Marketing & Communication Manager and the Event Senior Manager to support advocacy plans via external communication and events

- Support the preparation of the FTTH Conference, focusing on the relations with Policy Makers and Regulators

Practical conditions

- Position based in Brussels. 2 days / week remote working possible

- Employee contract or independent contractor agreement

- Full time position

Candidate Profile

- Bachelor or Master degree in Law or Economy , or equivalent

- Previous successful experience in Public Affairs role vis à vis EU Institutions

- Experience of the Telecom / ICT industry is a plus

- Professional written and spoken English is a must

- Additional European language skills is a plus.

- Very good communication skills.

- Autonomous, self-motivated with a high level of integrity

- EU permanent work permit is a must.
