We're a software studio of 75+ people, and still growing. We do two things. We build our own products, right now around search and AI, where the hard part is scale and pulling the right information back out. And we work alongside large companies on the engineering that moves their businesses forward.

The two halves feed each other. Product work keeps our hands on real problems. Client work keeps us honest about what actually ships.

About the role

You'd lead a small, senior pod, a few of us plus an offshore team, embedded with a large enterprise client.

The mission is simple to say and hard to do: find where AI can take real, measurable work off people's plates, then build it. The environment is complex and full of legacy. Lots of business lines, deep domain knowledge, systems in Oracle, SQL Server and .NET running mostly on Azure. Nobody hands you a tidy spec.

A big part of the job is discovery: sitting with the business, understanding how the work really happens, and proposing what's worth doing. It's consulting and engineering at the same time, and it's real, not slideware. AI is how we move fast through stacks we don't know and decode systems we've never seen.

Day to day, you'd:

- Lead the pod technically, and set the direction for what we build and why.
- Do the discovery. Dig into the client's workflows, find the AI opportunities that actually move the needle, and propose them.
- Translate fuzzy business goals into a plan our team and the client's can act on.
- Go hands-on in the hard parts, including legacy code you've never touched, with AI as your accelerator.
- Work directly with client stakeholders,



and keep everyone honest about measurable outcomes.
- Lean on AI where it speeds you up, and help the team figure out where it earns its place.

The role runs through the end of the year, and can extend if it's going well on both sides. It's a contract, fully remote, with the occasional get-together in the Canary Islands.

What we're looking for The technical side

- A strong software engineer first, with solid AI/ML experience on top. You've shipped both.
- You've led technical work and owned outcomes, not just the code you wrote.
- You get productive fast in unfamiliar or legacy stacks (think Oracle, SQL Server, .NET), using AI to decode what you don't know.
- You've built real things with LLMs and AI tooling, and you know where they help and where they don't.
- Cloud experience, Azure especially, is a plus.

Communication and consulting

- You like the discovery part. Walking into ambiguity, working out what the client actually needs, and proposing it is the fun bit, not the scary bit.
- You can sit with business people, understand their world, and turn it into something technical, all in English, since you'll work with the client every day.
- You push for impact you can measure, and you influence through reasoning, not hierarchy.

The human side

- You see what's missing, decide, and act, and you own the outcome.
- You're comfortable with ambiguity, and you add structure as the project needs it.
- You care about quality, and about leaving things the next person can build on.
- You stay humble, and you bring the team along rather than going solo.
