Context

Our client is developing an offshore cable interconnector project, with diving operations forming part of the offshore works. Diving activities of this nature are subject to a heightened level of risk, requiring a dedicated on-site prevention resource to be present in accordance with the applicable occupational health and safety regulations.

Project scope & Role overview The assignment covers the Recurso Preventivo function during diving activities supporting the offshore cable interconnector project. The Recurso Preventivo is a dedicated on-site presence required by applicable regulations whenever diving or other high-risk operations are underway, tasked with monitoring compliance with the prevention plan and applicable safety requirements for the duration of the diving activities.

Act as the qualified and authorised Recurso Preventivo during diving activities, verifying that preventive measures set out in the applicable risk assessment and safety documentation are followed for the duration of the operations.

Reporting line: to the site / project HSE management, in coordination with the diving supervisor and offshore operations team.

Key responsibilities

Preventive presence and monitoring

Be present on site for the duration of diving activities as the qualified Recurso Preventivo

Monitor compliance with the preventive measures set out in the applicable risk assessment and safety plan





Verify that diving and offshore support activities are carried out in line with applicable regulations

Reporting and escalation

Report any deviation from the preventive measures or safety plan to site management without delay

Support the diving supervisor and offshore team on preventive matters during operations

Key deliverables

Recurso Preventivo presence maintained for the full duration of diving activities

Compliance with preventive measures monitored and deviations reported

Required certifications and documentation (including the A1 Certificate) held and valid throughout the assignment

Profile

- Must-have: Relevant experience supporting diving and offshore activities

Soft skills
- Rigorous and safety-focused, with sound judgement to flag deviations promptly
- Comfortable working offshore alongside diving and support teams
- Fluent English.
- Report any deviation from the preventive measures or safety plan to site management without delay
- Support the diving supervisor and offshore team on preventive matters during operations

Requirements & Certifications

- Qualified and authorised to perform the role of Recurso Preventivo in accordance with the applicable regulations
- Valid offshore certifications required to access offshore worksites, including GWO, BOSIET and/or STCW as applicable
- Valid offshore medical certificate
- A1 Certificate obtained and available prior to commencement of the assignment
