The engineers in the Pitch and Yaw system section are responsible for the motors, cabinet assemblies, cables, and integration of these components into the turbine within the Onshore and Offshore wind turbine platforms. They will conduct trade‑off studies, engineering changes and design releases, bill of material creation and maintenance, and validation while always achieving excellence in terms of safety and quality.

The Engineer will work cross‑functionally with colleagues across the integral pitch and yaw team, as well as sourcing, validation, and quality teams.

Roles and Responsibilities - Manage design releases and change processes, including engineering change requests and enterprise change orders for cabinets, assemblies, and rotor integration.

- Evaluate, select, and apply appropriate electronic technology and components; design complex cable harness assemblies for electrical and mechanical properties.
- Own and account for design, specifications, requirements definition, development and testing (vibration, thermal, EMC, electrical, ingress protection) and certification of appointed components.
- Provide lifecycle support from development to product manufacturing sunset, and respond to manufacturing requests (NCR/SDR) and fleet (PAC) requests.
- Select, develop, document and direct the execution of physical tests (e.g., components, external systems) to validate design and demonstrate conformance to requirements.
- Apply mechanical design tools (CAD, preferred NX, ANSYS) and create detailed design and bill of material for manufacturable product.
- Perform engineering excellence and provide innovative design solutions to deliver world‑class safety and quality.
- Self‑manage daily operations to achieve on‑time priorities scheduled by the technical leader.
- Coordinate with Product Definition Engineering (PDE) team to produce high‑quality manufacturing and assembly documentation, drawings,

electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
- Ensure quality of deliverables, on‑time delivery, design cost, DFMEA, performance, availability, weight, and general targets defined by the business.
- Work with cross‑functions (services, manufacturing, suppliers, systems, sourcing, program management) to ensure robust development of components.
- Support validation strategy through internal and external test labs; apply design practices, standards, new methods or tools to ensure safety and quality.
- Support cost‑optimization efforts with suppliers and assist with supplier qualification, including occasional supplier visit for FPQ or quality lead audit.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) programs to mitigate weaknesses in design and incorporate lessons learned promptly.

Required Qualifications - Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or related discipline.

- Proven technology and/or engineering experience within the wind turbine industry or a similar technical environment.

Desired

Characteristics - Wind industry expertise with proven results developing and implementing technology programs.

- Product‑Life Cycle Management (PLM) expertise.
- Ability to work independently and interpret electrical schematics.
- Knowledge and application of electro‑mechanical components in power conversion applications, including wire separation for power and control distribution.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and applicable design codes (e.g., IEC/UL 61800‑5‑1).
- Skilled in mechanical and electrical component design calculations, specifications, and schematics.
- Demonstrated system thinking: assess trade‑offs, evaluate risk, and optimize results.
- Business acumen and customer focus.
- Demonstrated ability to work horizontally across stakeholders to influence outcomes.
