? What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a Senior AIT Engineer with extensive experience in satellite Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT), with a strong electrical background and proven expertise in the development, validation, and operation of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). The ideal candidate will be capable of leading electrical integration and verification activities, defining AIT strategies, coordinating test campaigns, and supporting spacecraft activities from integration through environmental testing and launch campaign.
? Key Responsibilities
- Lead spacecraft electrical Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) activities for flight hardware throughout the project lifecycle.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute spacecraft electrical integration, functional verification, and test campaigns from subsystem integration to launch campaign support.
- Define, develop, validate, and maintain Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) required for spacecraft integration and verification activities.
- Prepare, review, and approve AIT documentation, including Integration Procedures, Test Procedures, Test Plans, and Test Reports.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams during integration and test campaigns, ensuring compliance with project schedules, quality requirements, and safety constraints.
- Support environmental test campaigns (Vibration, TVAC, EMC, etc.), including electrical setup,
functional testing, troubleshooting, and anomaly resolution.
- Perform electrical integration activities, including harness installation, connector mating/demating, electrical inspections, continuity checks, and functional verification.
- Lead anomaly investigation, root cause analysis, and non-conformance resolution during AIT activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable ECSS standards, customer requirements, and AIT best practices.
- Mentor junior AIT engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance throughout integration and test activities.
? Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in spacecraft Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) or similar roles, including satellite flight projects.
- Strong knowledge of spacecraft electrical integration, harness architecture, electrical interfaces, and functional verification.
- Experience in the development, validation, operation, and maintenance of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) .
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ECSS , MIL-STD , and NASA standards.
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment, laboratory instrumentation, and EGSE hardware/software used during spacecraft integration and verification.
- Proven experience leading electrical AIT activities throughout the project lifecycle, from subsystem integration to environmental testing and launch campaign support.
- Familiarity with AIT campaigns for Earth Observation satellites and/or launchers.
- Practical experience in the aeronautical or aerospace sector, particularly in spacecraft electrical integration and testing.
- Experience in ESA or European space programmes is considered a plus.
- Familiarity with EGSE and spacecraft verification activities during Phases C and D.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate anomalies and implement effective technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills,
with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and with external stakeholders.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
✨ Desired (Not Mandatory)
- Experience with spacecraft electrical harness integration, routing, and installation.
- Experience supporting environmental test campaigns (TVAC, Vibration, EMC, Acoustic, Shock) and associated electrical activities.
- Understanding of spacecraft electrical architectures, power distribution, and subsystem interfaces.
- Experience in the development or customization of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) hardware and software.
- Experience in spacecraft HW AIT/AIV, Verification & Validation (V&V;) campaigns, and familiarity with real-time test environments and data acquisition systems.
