Overview The Institute of Sustainable Processes of the University of Valladolid (ISP‑UVa) is recruiting a pre‑doctoral researcher for the project UNCOVER – Unlocking the industrial conversion of CO₂ into renewable, long‑lasting and hybrid products (CORDIS ID: 101269441). UNCOVER aims to demonstrate the scalability and sustainability of innovative carbon capture and utilisation technologies for the conversion of CO₂ emissions from representative European industries into renewable and high‑value products.
Responsibilities
Operation, monitoring and optimisation of bioreactors for CO₂ conversion at lab and demo scale.
Cultivation and characterisation of hydrogenotrophic bacterial biomass.
Basic engineering and support in detailed engineering of the demo scale plant.
Analysis of process performance and product quality.
Data processing.
Preparation of technical reports and scientific publications.
Participation in dissemination activities.




Support to project partners related to data supply.
Other project‑related tasks.
Duration and Compensation Duration: 01/09/2026 – 31/08/2030.
Monthly gross salary: €1,980 (approx.).
Requirements
Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Biotechnology or related fields. Candidates may have completed or be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree.
Oral and written communication skills in English.
Strong motivation for research and professional development, with a serious and committed approach to work responsibilities.
