Experteer Overview As a System Architect at Workato, you will lead the design and evolution of a secure, scalable platform, shaping how the product supports real-time orchestration at enterprise scale. You’ll drive critical architectural decisions across microservices and legacy components, partnering with product and security teams to set standards. Your work enables reliable, zero‑downtime migrations and robust security for the automated enterprise. This role offers hands‑on coding and high‑impact governance in a fast-growing cloud‑native environment.

Compensaciones / Incentivos

- Design microservices and platform features from concept to production‑ready specs
- Create technical designs and proof‑of‑concepts in Golang
- Architect secure, fault‑tolerant systems with automated failover and end‑to‑end encryption
- Analyze existing architecture and plan gradual replacement of legacy components
- Plan implementation phases, migration strategies, and deprecation timelines
- Review and approve architectural designs; lead architecture review sessions
- Collaborate with Product, Dev Leads, Security, SRE, and Infrastructure to set platform-wide standards
- Lead threat modeling and drive consensus on platform initiatives




- Mentor engineers on architectural best practices and resolve complex challenges
- Write technical documentation (ADRs, runbooks, API specs) and design system diagrams
- Design zero‑downtime migration strategies and define acceptance criteria for changes
- Lead cross‑team projects with phased implementations and feature flags

Responsabilidades

- 8+ years building scalable distributed systems
- 3+ years in System/Platform Architect roles
- Proven experience with large microservice environments and monoliths
- Strong Golang coding skills (production‑quality)
- Proficiency with Protocol Buffers, gRPC, WebSockets, Kafka, PostgreSQL (partitioning, replication, HA)
- Security & authentication expertise (OAuth 2.0/OIDC, JWT, mTLS, encryption)
- Infrastructure & operations knowledge (Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Terraform)
- Experience with distributed systems patterns (Saga, circuit breakers, retries)
- Experience with high‑scale systems (millions of requests per day)
- Excellent technical writing and cross‑team communication
- Ability to plan phased implementations and lead complex projects
- Track record with feature flags, gradual rollouts, zero‑downtime deployments
- Mentorship mindset and cost analysis capabilities
- Experience with AI‑assisted workflows in system analysis and anomaly detection
