- Lead the Space Systems Engineering function across all mission phases: design, analysis, integration, testing, launch, and operations
- Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high technical standards and on-time delivery
- Own end-to-end payload and system development, from early concept through in-orbit operations
- Work closely with Software, Firmware, Remote Sensing, Payload, and Operations teams to ensure seamless system integration
- Lead R&D; initiatives, technical proposals, and launch planning in close collaboration with the CTO
- Support business development and sales activities by translating customer, partner, and supplier needs into technical requirements
- Drive innovation by researching new technologies, proposing prototypes, and advancing system architectures, calibration methods, and operational concepts
- Ensure robust project execution through strong documentation, agile workflows, and adherence to internal standards and best practices
- Contribute to technical publications, company articles, and the development of internal procedures and specification manuals
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Several years of experience in satellite and/or payload systems engineering, including full mission lifecycle delivery
- Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams within a space environment
- Strong knowledge of satellite subsystems and payload technologies (power, communications, AOCS, propulsion, EO payloads, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing, integration, and testing of payloads or satellite platforms
- Expertise in system verification, validation, and environmental testing (vibration, acoustic, shock, thermal vacuum, EMC)
- Experience with AIV processes and ground support equipment (MGSE / EGSE)
- Proficiency with simulation and analysis tools such as STK, GMAT, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar
- Experience with hardware design tools (e.g. SolidWorks or equivalent) and thermal/FEM analysis
- Strong Python development skills and solid Linux proficiency
- Practical experience working in agile development environments
Advantageous Experience:
- Experience with thermal imaging payloads (MWIR, LWIR, etc.)
- Familiarity with geospatial standards and formats (e.g. OGC WMS/WMTS/APIs, STAC, COG)
- Experience with containerised applications (e.g. Docker)
- Exposure to cloud architectures supporting image processing pipelines
- Understanding of imaging processing chains and downstream imaging products
