Warehouse Manager – Large Items

Location: Bilbao, Vizcaya (Spain)

JD Logistics is expanding its European operations and requires an experienced Senior Warehouse Manager to launch and operate a new large‑item distribution center in Spain. The role will lead the full lifecycle of the facility—from planning and layout to day‑to‑day operations, safety compliance, and cross‑functional collaboration with transportation partners.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the launch and ongoing management of the large‑item distribution center, ensuring operational readiness, safety compliance, and high inventory accuracy.
- Design and optimize space utilization and workflow for non‑standard, bulky goods, including specialized racking and heavy‑machinery operations.
- Ensure 100% compliance with Spanish industrial safety regulations and the Madrid Logistics Collective Agreement.
- Drive zero‑incident performance and maintain a strong safety culture across all staff.
- Collaborate with 1PL/3PL transportation and white‑glove delivery teams to ensure seamless heavy‑item distribution from warehouse to customer.
- Deliver performance against key metrics: commissioning time,



storage density, safety incidents, inventory protection, and cross‑functional alignment.

Required Qualifications

- Proven track record launching or managing a large‑scale, high‑volume distribution center or industrial hub from scratch.
- Strong experience in heavy‑material handling operations, including forklifts, reach trucks, and other MHE.
- Deep understanding of Spanish warehouse safety regulations and the Madrid Logistics Collective Agreement.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (Mandarin is a plus).
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with ability to manage cross‑functional teams.
- Adaptability to shift structures, changing operational deadlines, and dynamic operational environments.
