The Yael Schools Network is launching a new Jewish Early Years Centre in Valencia. We are seeking a founding Lead Early Years Teacher to shape, promote, and grow this new kindergarten. This leadership role combines outstanding classroom teaching with pedagogical guidance, merging a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach , the IB Early Years (EYP) framework , and a strong foundation in Jewish values .
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead educator, modeling best practices to foster children's cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual development.
- Lead the implementation of the Reggio-inspired and IB-aligned curriculum; integrate Jewish values, culture, and traditions into daily inquiry-based learning.
- Support the initial physical setup, design the learning environment, and establish routines and pedagogical culture prior to opening.
- Mentor, guide, and collaborate with early years teachers and teaching assistants.
- Build trusting relationships with families through proactive communication, regular progress updates, and community integration.
Key Requirements
Essential
- Must hold a Grado en Magisterio de Educación Infantil (or equivalent validated in Spain) to legally qualify for the center's leadership.
- Proven track record of excellence in early childhood teaching and mentoring/guiding other educators.
- Fluency in English is required. (Spanish and/or Hebrew is a strong advantage).
- Deep connection to and alignment with Jewish values and community life.
Desirable
- Experience with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP/EYP) or the Reggio Emilia approach.
- Background working in international, bilingual, or founding school environments.
