A good mix of backgrounds and nationalities.The GuestsPrimarily the owner and his family.The PositionAs Chief Stewardess, you will be responsible for all aspects of the yacht's interior while helping create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere on board. We maintain a very high standard of service, but this is not a formal silver-service yacht. We value professionalism, warmth and personality over unnecessary formality.Your responsibilities include:Guest Satisfaction: Delivering exceptional service while interacting with the owner and his family on a personal level.Guest Interaction: You must be comfortable engaging with our owner and guests and able to hold an intelligent conversation. A good sense of humour is essential. Instagram intelligence alone will not cut it.Interior Maintenance: Maintaining the cleanliness, presentation and organisation of the yacht's interior to the highest standard.Inventory Management: Managing all interior inventories, including linens, toiletries, guest supplies and consumables.Accounting: Sensible purchasing with minimal waste, together with uploading all transactions to the yacht's payment platform.Guest Liaison: Understanding owner and guest requests and ensuring they are communicated effectively to the captain and crew.Administration: Managing the interior administration associated with the role.Watchkeeping: Participating in lookout and anchor watches.Teamwork:
The interior department consists of just two people—a Chief Stewardess and a Second Stewardess. A close working relationship andgenuine teamworkare critical.Crossings and Maintenance Periods: Vacation is normally taken when the owner is not on board, usually during crossings and maintenance periods. During these times, you may work as the sole stewardess while the Second Stewardess is on leave.The CandidateQualificationsYou should hold:Basic STCWENG1 (or equivalent)Food Hygiene Level 2A Schengen visa, or be able to obtain one before joining.SkillsHospitality: We are not a silver-service yacht. Meals are served to a high standard, but with an informal flair.Wine Knowledge: A good understanding of wines, together with the confidence to recommend and serve them.Cocktails: A solid understanding of classic cocktails and the ability to prepare and serve them well.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Attention to Detail: You should take genuine pride in everything you do.Experience: You should have sufficient experience to comfortably perform the duties outlined above.MindsetBeing a competent Chief Stewardess is only the starting point.We are looking for someone who:Has an adventurous spirit and genuinely wants to travel.Understands that remote cruising demands a positive attitude and the ability to fit in with a good crew.Enjoys spending time with both crew and guests during shore excursions and water-based activities when off duty.Is not a prima donna. Every crew member on board contributes well beyond their job description to make the programme a success. You must be prepared to "muck in".Is looking for a long-term position.
