Santuario Kunturi
Castilla y León
We're looking for a General Manager to help hold this place.
Santuario Kunturi is a serene sanctuary in northern Spain, offering a space for adults to slow down and immerse themselves in quietness and natural beauty. Unlike conventional retreats, Kunturi focuses on creating conditions for presence through silence, subtle design, and thoughtful experiences. Our unique hospitality philosophy emphasizes intimacy, coherence, and non-invasive wellbeing. We cater to guests who value tranquility, shared respect, and the depth of true rest. Kunturi is a haven for those seeking moments of comfort and intentional connection, away from the busyness of modern life.
We're looking for a General Manager to lead daily operations — and who is, first, gentle. Gentle with the animals on the grounds, gentle with the plants and gardens, gentle with guests and staff alike.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a General Manager located in Tresgrandas, Spain. The General Manager will oversee daily operations to ensure the sanctuary’s standards of excellence in hospitality and wellbeing are maintained. Responsibilities include managing staff, implementing operational plans, optimizing guest experiences, monitoring budgets, and fostering sustainable practices. The role also involves creating an atmosphere of calm and professionalism while ensuring guests' unique needs are respected and fulfilled.
Overseeing day-to-day operations across the property — guest experience, housekeeping, Flor de Loto (our restaurant), and Sacred Paths (our wellbeing space). Managing and mentoring a small team. Keeping the grounds, gardens, and animals cared for with real attention, not just upkeep. Handling budgets, vendors, and supplier relationships. Making sure the sanctuary's pace — no bells,
no rush — comes through in how it's run, not just how it's marketed.
What we're looking for...
Someone with hospitality or property management experience, ideally in boutique or nature-based settings. A genuinely gentle hand with animals and living things — this isn't negotiable here. Someone willing to grow into the role and grow with us, open to learning and taking on more over time. Based near Tresgrandas or willing to relocate nearby — this is an in-person, on-the-ground role. Comfortable with both the operational side (budgets, staff, logistics) and the human side (guests, care, presence).
Qualifications
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience in hospitality or retreat environments.
- Strong organizational and operational capabilities to manage day-to-day business functions efficiently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to support staff motivation and exceptional guest interactions.
- A solid understanding of budgeting, financial oversight, and resource allocation.
- Commitment to upholding a hospitality model prioritizing intimacy, coherence, and sustainable living.
- Flexibility, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish and English) is highly desirable.
- Experience in wellness, mindfulness, or experiential guest services is a plus.
- A bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
