We are looking for a Fraud Prevention Specialist to protect MatchMusic, our artists, curators, and partners from payment abuse, identity fraud, and platform manipulation. You will investigate suspicious activity across subscriptions, credits, payouts, distribution, and promotional services — and help build scalable controls that keep the platform fair, secure, and compliant.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and investigate suspicious accounts, transactions, and payout activity across the platform.
- Review identity verification (KYC) cases and escalate high-risk profiles before distribution or withdrawal access is granted.
- Detect and respond to payment fraud patterns, including chargebacks, stolen payment methods, and subscription abuse.
- Identify streaming manipulation, credit abuse, promo fraud, and other attempts to game platform systems.
- Document investigations, write clear case notes, and recommend account actions (warnings, restrictions, suspensions).
- Partner with engineering, support, and operations to improve fraud rules, alerts, and internal workflows.
- Track emerging fraud trends in music distribution, creator platforms, and digital payments.
- Support compliance and policy enforcement while maintaining a fair experience for legitimate users.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in fraud prevention, trust & safety, risk operations, or financial crime investigations.
- Hands-on experience reviewing payment fraud,
account abuse, or payout-related risk (Stripe or similar processors is a plus).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing logs, patterns, and user behavior.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure with clear written documentation.
- Understanding of common fraud vectors: identity theft, synthetic identities, chargebacks, account takeover, and promo abuse.
- Comfort collaborating in person with cross-functional teams at our Madrid office.
- Professional fluency in English and Spanish.
Nice to Have
- Experience in music, creator economy, marketplace, or subscription SaaS platforms.
- Familiarity with KYC/AML workflows and identity verification providers (e.g. Stripe Identity).
- Exposure to SQL, dashboards, or case management tools for fraud investigations.
- Background in chargeback dispute management or merchant risk programs.
- Knowledge of streaming fraud, artificial engagement, or royalty abuse patterns.
What We Offer
- On-site role based in Madrid, Spain
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- High-impact role protecting a fast-growing music and distribution platform
- Work closely with product, engineering, and operations on real fraud prevention systems
- Professional development budget for risk, compliance, and security training
- Supportive, international team environment
