Ready to move past just following templates and actually build a QA culture from scratch?

Our client is a fast-growing tech company building an innovative, rapidly evolving digital platform. We're looking for a Junior QA Engineer to become the first dedicated QA professional in the growing tech team of our client. This is a unique opportunity to build the QA function from the ground up, helping define testing processes, improve product quality, and gradually introduce test automation.
You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, and Design to ensure every release meets high-quality standards while developing a deep understanding of the product and contributing to product discussions.
Based in Barcelona, the office is near Turó Park, you'll join a collaborative startup environment where your ideas will have a direct impact on both the product and the development process.
Main responsibilities
- Own the manual QA process for the web application and backend
- Design, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans and regression test suites for every release
- Test new features before production, ensuring product stability and a great user experience
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track bugs until resolution
- Build and continuously improve QA processes, becoming the first point of reference for quality within the team
- Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, and Designers to understand requirements and identify potential risks early in the development cycle
- Participate in product workshops, providing both functional and technical feedback
- Develop a deep understanding of the product to become a functional expert and support the Product team
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive testing and gradually implement automated tests using the team's preferred tools
- Collaborate with developers and DevOps to integrate automated testing into the development workflow and CI/CD pipeline
Core skills/experience
- Around 2-3 years of experience in Software Testing or Quality Assurance
- Strong experience with manual functional testing, regression testing, and writing test cases
- Experience using bug tracking tools such as Jira, Linear, YouTrack, or similar
- Experience testing APIs with tools like Postman or Insomnia
- Exposure to test automation using Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks
- Basic programming knowledge and the ability to understand application code
- A proactive, curious, and autonomous mindset with the confidence to build processes from scratch
- French is a plus, but not required. English will be the working language if you don't speak french
What’s on offer
- Salary between €25,000 and €35,000 depending on experience
