SUMMARY

The Inspector I performs basic inspection work in petroleum, petrochemical, gas, grain, oils and fats terminals and refineries; and on board barges and ships, following industry standards and the procedures published by API, Fosfa, Gafta, and Saybolt.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist other inspectors and Account Managers in the execution of location duties.
- Ensure efficient operations at the location to meet client needs accurately and on time.
- Perform inspections at various locations, including offshore operations, as requested.
- Conduct vessel and shore inspections under the supervision of a higher-level inspector or Account Manager.
- Follow all company procedures: HSE Manual, Accounting Policies, Saybolt Administration, IT procedures, Ethics Policy, and Compliance Code.
- Maintain cooperation with the department and managers on all assignments.
- Verify the accuracy of measurement and sampling equipment and perform related calculations.
- Carry out safety and quality requirements specified in Saybolt manuals and the General Safety Manual.
- Attend required training and pass examinations in petroleum, chemical, Fosfa, Gafta, and gas inspection procedures.
- Perform other inspection department duties as assigned by the Manager or Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS

- High‑school diploma or equivalent (general education degree).
- At least 1 year of experience as an inspector or in a related field.
- Good verbal and written knowledge of the local language and English.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of all types of sampling and measurement procedures.
- Mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, percentages,



and ability to read and interpolate tables.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and teamwork aptitude.

- Ability to work safely in hazardous environments and within confined spaces.
- Proficiency in sample collection, calculation, and reporting.
- Commitment to procedural, safety, and quality requirements.
- Readiness to participate in cross‑training to acquire advanced laboratory procedures.
- Maintaining equipment and materials in good condition.

OTHER INFORMATION

- Properly maintained vehicle (good condition, safe operating) for job and sample transport in all weather.
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record and adequate automobile liability insurance.
- Prepared for local travel and occasional out‑of‑town assignments.
- Physical demands: lifting up to 10kg regularly and up to 25kg frequently, with necessary vision and hearing.
- Work environment includes exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and moderate noise levels.
