-physics Modelling for energy storage technologies, focusing on lithium/sodium ion, solid-state, and other advanced battery systems.

The role involves developing and implementing multi-physics models for battery design and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

- Form part of a state-of-the-art research centre focused on sustainability and circular economy.
- Work independently within a defined work plan, carrying out multiple projects simultaneously.
- Implement new mechanisms and features into existing battery simulation code.
- Generate new ideas/concepts and implement them in simulation models.
- Assist in producing documentation related to funding proposals.
- Achieve forecasts defined in the annual plans, maintaining strong product/market/result orientation regarding deadline, cost, time.
- Continuously monitor state of the art and market developments.

Requirements

- Education: Engineering / Physics / Mathematics
- Languages: High level of written and spoken English
- Knowledge and skills: o Python programming or advanced programming in another similar language.





o Experience implementing and optimizing numerical methods for solving systems of partial differential equations.

o Modelling and simulation of complex problems: multi-physics and multi-scale problems.

o Knowledge of lithium‑ion and electrochemical battery modelling.
o Modern programming tools, display and software development (Git/SVN).
o Mathematical, statistical and machine learning optimisation.

- Additional qualifications: Experience abroad and more than 3 years’ work experience considered a plus.
