Harbour.Space Institute of Technology offers a unique work-study opportunity through its ML/AI Engineer Apprenticeship combined with a Master of Data Science programme. This programme provides project-based academic learning alongside an industry internship as an ML & AI Engineer, with full tuition covered through a scholarship.

This is not an internship. This is a professional role with a built-in education track.

You’ll work aroud 30 hours a week as an ML & AI Engineer embedded in a real product team, while completing a Master's degree at Harbour.Space (3 hours/day of intensive, project-based coursework). The degree is fully covered and there is no tuition cost to you.

Who this is for:

You have 2-4 years of hands‑on ML or data experience, you’re good at what you do, and you’re ready for a bigger stage. You want to relocate to Barcelona, work on real problems, and come out with a Master's degree without pausing your career to do it.

What you’ll be doing:

- Building and optimising ML models and pipelines in a real product environment
- Working with large datasets, extraction, preprocessing, feature engineering




- Designing and iterating on predictive algorithms with direct business impact
- Translating model outputs into clear insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders

What you need:

- 2-4 years of professional experience in ML, data science, or a closely related field
- Strong Python and SQL as you use these daily, not just academically
- Hands‑on experience with Spark, HDFS, or Kafka (big data environments)
- English proficiency, so you can work and study in English comfortably
- Open to relocating to Barcelona, this role is on-site
