Job Overview The Technical Product Director – Liability is responsible for the integration of Intact Insurance Europe’s business around technical underwriting matters for the Liability line of business, influencing strategy, guiding underwriting governance, and supporting portfolio outperformance through technical leadership. Responsibilities Collaborate with the business to ensure successful execution of the business strategy. Provide strong product‑management oversight, ensuring adequate execution of underwriting governance frameworks and controls. Work with Pricing & Portfolio Management teams to ensure KPIs are effective and executed. Ensure Technical Excellence standards (underwriting capabilities, licences, pricing, wording, reinsurance, risk management, exposures accumulation) are met. Guide and influence the development of initiatives, responding to challenges related to operational efficiency, product development and data quality. Coach, provide performance feedback and facilitate continuous technical learning for Liability Directors and Underwriting Leaders. Contribute to strategic planning by providing portfolio actions, product improvements and recommendations to enhance liability business performance. Act as subject‑matter expert and thought leader in key strategic initiatives and internal technical forums. Provide updates and reports to the CUO on liability portfolio performance and critical operational items. Support underwriting governance initiatives, including technical audits and review of key controls. Champion change management and promote best practices. Create and maintain effective relationships with brokers, clients and key internal stakeholders. Handle routine information requests, prioritizing items accordingly.



Communicate and liaise with internal finance colleagues and others to check accuracy, obtain further information and resolve queries. Contribute to projects and initiatives as required. Qualifications 15+ years of experience in commercial or specialty insurance. 5+ years of management or technical leadership in the liability business. Master’s university degree or above. Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, motivate teams and drive change. Proven track record of setting clear objectives and monitoring progress of multiple projects against deadlines. Ability to address complex problems and take calculated risks in time‑sensitive situations. Effective communication skills to develop and foster relationships at all organizational levels. Comfortable working with a sense of urgency and ability to adapt to unexpected events. Executive/Portfolio licence holder in liability.
