This role is a key contributor within the Research and Development organization, responsible for applying data expertise and automation principles to generate accurate, customer‑facing scientific content. As a member of the Innovative Core Solutions team, the successful candidate will leverage modern data technologies and process improvement methodologies to drive efficiency in how product information is created and maintained. The position will serve as a subject‑matter expert in data handling, with a focus on cleaning, standardizing, wrangling, and managing the data and inputs used to produce product labels and scientific content for our online catalog.

This requires a strong understanding of the inputs and outputs within a custom SQL database and VB.NET based platform, with the goal of optimizing how teams interact with backend and frontend systems to reduce redundant data entry, minimize errors, and improve data consistency across the organization.



This position will collaborate cross‑functionally and lead initiatives that streamline data flows, strengthen data integrity, and enable scalable, automated content generation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Interact with scientists and technical writers to translate business needs into transformative process flows and tools.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for data handling, standardization, and automation within the scientific content and labeling workflow.
- Clean, validate, wrangle, and standardize product data and metadata used to generate labels and customer‑facing scientific content.
- Develop and refine data pipelines and content generation processes to improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency across teams.
- Optimize interactions with the custom in‑house SQL database + VB.NET platform, ensuring inputs, outputs, and data structures supporting standardized content creation.
- Identify and implement opportunities to eliminate redundant data entry, reduce user‑introduced errors, and strengthen data integrity across the organization.
- Apply automation, scripting, and data technologies to streamline content development and support scalable catalog and labeling operations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing data flow, reducing variability, and establishing best practices for scientific content creation.
- Support new product initiatives by ensuring data readiness, standardized inputs, and accurate generation of customer‑facing materials.
- Independently drive and manage project scope, roadmaps, and end‑to‑end deliverables, partnering cross‑functionally to ensure successful execution and outcomes.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

- Proficiency in object‑oriented programming, with expertise in VB.NET or comparable .NET languages.
- Hands‑on experience with Oracle SQL (PL/SQL), including writing queries, managing relational data, and optimizing data interactions. (Or similar SQL dialects such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, T‑SQL, SQLite, etc.)
- Experience working with Big Data frameworks and distributed file systems (such as Apache Spark and Hadoop/HDFS),



including building and optimizing scalable data pipelines.
- Ability to program independently in languages such as R or Python, for data manipulation, analysis, and scripting automation.
- Experience building and managing data solutions on major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google), including data integration, databases, data lakes, and virtual compute infrastructure.
- Proficiency with distributed file systems and processing frameworks such as Spark and Hadoop to build scalable, high‑performance data pipelines.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) for workflow automation and low‑code solution development.
- Technical competency to perform analytics: data extraction, data cleaning, and data visualization.
- Ability to integrate, manage, and harmonize diverse and complex data sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems.
- Experience contributing to full software or solution lifecycles, from concept and design through development, implementation, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with technical writing principles or interest in automating and enhancing the generation of technical product content.
- Self‑directed, detail‑oriented problem solver with strong analytical thinking and initiative.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts or schema into clear, understandable terms across broad audiences.
- Experience with Agile design approaches and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of basic scientific principles in biology and chemistry and/or experience working closely with scientists on data analysis or data pipeline projects. (Familiarity with flow cytometry principles is a plus)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor’s Degree or Master of Science degree in Data Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Software Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required.
