Swan is both a technology company and a financial services company, and our Compliance team makes these pieces fit together!
As an Electronic Money Institution, Swan faces many legal and regulatory challenges when conducting its business and operations: fighting money laundering, protecting clients’ funds, working with legitimate partners, etc.
As our Compliance Officer in Spain, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our operations remain in line with regulatory requirements. You will have the role of AMLRO for Spain.
Main Responsibilities
Managing Regulatory Changes: Stay ahead of and implement regulatory changes in Spain.
Regulatory Submissions: Owner of submitting regulatory documents under the supervision of the Head of Compliance.
Escalation Point: Act as the escalation point for investigations conducted by FinCrime Analysts.
Business Use Cases: Explore regulatory aspects of various business use cases.
New Products and Services: Assess regulatory aspects of new products and services.
Compliance Documentation: Contribute to the maintenance of our internal documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Regulatory Watch: Conduct regulatory watch on Spanish banking supervision matters to keep the organization informed and compliant.
Regulatory bodies: Serve as the primary point of contact for Spanish regulatory bodies (Banco de España / SEPBLAC / CNMV).
Qualifications
You have significant experience (+5 years)
in a Compliance position in a financial institution, ideally in a Fintech or another fast‑paced work environment.
You have an excellent knowledge of Spanish banking regulations and payment ecosystem.
You possess the mindset of a “problem solver”: You need to be a creative and resourceful thinker, maintaining a positive and can‑do attitude towards challenges and obstacles.
High autonomy and ability to take initiatives.
Synthesis and analytical mindset with strong writing skills.
Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements in an evolving and fast‑paced environment.
Fluent in Spanish & English.
