About the Job
As a Data Scientist on Levi Strauss & Co.'s Data, Analytics & AI team, you will build advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions to address consumer needs, streamline processes, and drive revenue or cost savings.
Responsibilities
Develop analytical solutions and production‑ready models for pricing and promotion challenges, taking into account business needs and the technology/operations landscape.
Apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI techniques to derive business value from internal and external data sets using cloud‑based technology.
Collaborate on pricing elasticity modeling, pricing recommendations, promotional campaign optimization, and discount recommendations.
Translate complex data and methodology into strategic, operationally feasible insights and recommendations.
Communicate findings clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences, verbally and visually.
Identify trends and opportunities to drive innovation in both what we do and how we do it.
Document all code and approaches; actively contribute to and reuse community best practices.
Qualifications
Advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or an equivalent discipline.
Experience developing models and algorithms in a commercial environment with measurable business impact.
Strong SQL and Python skills required; proficiency in at least one open‑source programming language desirable.
Expertise in multivariate statistical modelling and machine learning (clustering, regression, principal components, factor analysis, time‑series forecasting, Bayesian methods, Random Forest, KNN, SVM, boosting, bagging, regularization).
Experience with cloud computing platforms (GCP, AWS, or others).
Ability to coordinate and track multiple deliverables across stakeholders and business areas.
Proficiency with data visualization tools (Looker, Streamlit, Tableau) desirable.
Experience with native ML orchestration systems such as Kubeflow, Vertex AI Pipelines, and Airflow.
Proficiency with Spark.
Experience implementing and optimizing Large Language Models (LLMs) for business applications.
Experience with agile methodology.
Prior experience in retail or FMCG.
Knowledge of standard software engineering practices: unit testing, continuous integration, continuous deployment, code reviews, and design documentation.
Ability to automate business processes.
Salary The expected starting salary range for this role is €60,500 – €80,700 gross per year. The amount earned within the range will be based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, performance, and company needs.
Salary ranges may vary by location and currency; local ranges apply where roles are advertised across multiple locations.
