Ga N Technology Director / Senior Manager Location: Spain Competitive compensation package We are seeking an experienced leader to drive the development, industrialization, and growth of a Gallium Nitride (Ga N) technology platform. This role combines deep technical expertise in semiconductor process development with strategic leadership, customer engagement, and team management. The successful candidate will define the technology roadmap, oversee platform evolution, and ensure the successful transfer of advanced Ga N technologies into manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and optimize Ga N semiconductor manufacturing processes for advanced optoelectronic and power device applications. Lead technology transfer activities to support internal capability development and successful customer engagements. Build, maintain, and continuously enhance the Ga N platform, including Process Design Kits (PDKs), design rules, device models, process modules, and supporting documentation.
Serve as the primary interface between customers and manufacturing teams, ensuring designs are manufacturable and requirements are clearly communicated. Collaborate closely with customers to align technology capabilities with product requirements and development objectives. Lead iterative wafer fabrication cycles, driving improvements in process stability, yield, reliability, and device performance.
Define and execute the Ga N technology roadmap, establishing priorities, development milestones, platform extensions, and maturity targets. Work closely with Device Engineering, Process Integration, Metrology, Reliability, and Packaging teams to validate technologies and ensure manufacturability. Represent the Ga N platform internally and externally, building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering organization, promoting technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
Evaluate and develop new business opportunities and go-to-market strategies related to Ga N manufacturing services.
To be considered you would need the following: Technical & Platform Development Expertise: Strong understanding of semiconductor foundry platform development and maturation, from concept through qualification and volume production.
Experience developing semiconductor manufacturing processes for Ga N, III‑V semiconductors, photonics, or related technologies. Proven experience developing and maintaining semiconductor platforms, including PDKs, process modules, design rules, device models, and technical documentation. Ability to guide customers in designing products within foundry capabilities, process constraints, and design guidelines.
Understanding of the long‑term, iterative nature of semiconductor platform development, including multiple fabrication cycles required to achieve production maturity. Advanced degree (MSc or Ph D) in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience within semiconductor foundries, advanced process development, or compound semiconductor manufacturing environments.
Experience working directly with customers on technology development, qualification, and commercialization programs.
Strategic & Innovation Leadership: Demonstrated ability to define and execute technology strategies aligned with market opportunities and industry trends. Strong innovation mindset with experience driving new device concepts, process architectures, and technology differentiation. Ability to balance customer requirements, technical feasibility, resource allocation, and long‑term platform scalability when defining development priorities.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Experience leading and growing multidisciplinary engineering teams of 10+ professionals. Proven ability to mentor, motivate, and develop technical talent while fostering a high-performance culture. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to bridge customer requirements and manufacturing execution, ensuring successful product realization and long‑term partnerships.
