We are supporting leading contractors, developers, and engineering organisations on data centre projects across more than seven European countries and are expanding our network of experienced EHS Managers for both contract and permanent opportunities.

Responsibilities

Establish, implement, and oversee the project Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) plan in compliance with local regulations and corporate standards.

Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards, eliminate unsafe conditions, and drive a zero-harm safety culture.

Review and approve contractor risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), ensuring all high-risk activities are thoroughly planned and mitigated.

Manage incident reporting and investigations, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Lead the site EHS team, coordinate with sub‑contractor safety officers, and deliver site inductions, tool‑box talks, and specialised safety training.

Oversee critical high‑risk data centre activities, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), live electrical testing boundaries, working at heights, and heavy structural/MEP lifting operations.

Maintain strict environmental compliance, managing site waste management plans, emissions monitoring,

and sustainability reporting requirements.

Provide clear EHS metrics and reports to project directors, client representatives, and corporate stakeholders, highlighting trends and regulatory changes.

Requirements

Previous data centre experience is mandatory.

Proven experience serving as an EHS Manager within mission‑critical environments or large‑scale, fast‑track industrial construction projects.

Recognised professional safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, GradIOSH/CMIOSH status, or country‑specific European equivalents like Prevencionista, SiGeKo, or Safety Advisor certifications).

Deep technical knowledge of safety regulations associated with heavy mechanical, electrical, and civil works.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence behaviours, enforce safety standards firmly, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary site teams.

Familiarity with environmental management standards (such as ISO 14001) and occupational health and safety standards (ISO 45001).

Ability to work across Europe where required.

If you have proven data centre experience and are looking for your next opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
