Summary:
The Special Education Liaison will work with Chatham County RESA's member districts to support students with special needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that students receive the necessary support and accommodations to succeed in their academic pursuits. The Special Education Liaison will work closely with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers to identify students who may require special education services
- Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust IEPs as needed
- Provide guidance and support to teachers in implementing accommodations and modifications for students with special needs
- Serve as a liaison between parents, teachers,



and other stakeholders to ensure that students receive the necessary support and accommodations
- Attend IEP meetings and provide input on students' progress and needs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on students with special needs
- Stay up-to-date on current laws and regulations related to special education

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field
- Experience working with students with special needs
- Knowledge of laws and regulations related to special education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with virtual learning platforms is preferred.
