AI Technical Lead

Barcelona (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)

70,000 – 80,000 Euro’s base + benefits

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer / AI Technical Lead to drive the design and delivery of Generative AI solutions while providing technical leadership across AI initiatives.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will combine software engineering expertise with architectural decision-making and team coordination. You will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced AI solutions (LLMs, AI Agents, RAG, etc.), defining AI architectures, and providing technical guidance to a multidisciplinary AI team.

You will work closely with Data Scientists, MLOps Engineers, DevOps, and Architecture teams to build scalable, production-ready AI platforms that deliver measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide technical leadership for AI and Machine Learning initiatives.
- Design, develop, and deploy production-grade Generative AI solutions.
- Build intelligent AI agents and applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Define the technical architecture for AI platforms and solutions.
- Own and prioritize the AI Architecture and MLOps technical backlog.
- Coordinate and mentor the Data Science team from a technical perspective.
- Collaborate with MLOps, DevOps, and Architecture teams to ensure scalable and reliable deployments.
- Translate business requirements into robust AI solutions.




- Establish engineering best practices, architectural standards, and AI governance.
- Contribute to the evolution of the organization's AI roadmap.
- Drive technical decision-making across AI projects, ensuring high-quality delivery and long-term maintainability.
- Proactively manage technical priorities, risks, and cross-functional dependencies.

Required Experience:

- 5+ years of professional experience in Artificial Intelligence.
- Proven experience working as an AI Engineer.
- Previous experience acting as an AI Technical Lead or in a similar technical leadership role.
- Strong experience delivering production-grade Generative AI solutions, including:
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
- AI Agents
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Full-code agentic systems
- Solid understanding of AI solution architecture and scalable AI systems.
- Experience collaborating with MLOps and DevOps teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects, coordinate engineering teams, and define technical priorities.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Professional proficiency in English.
