Role Description The Marine HVAC Refrigeration Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Cubelles. This role is responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing marine air conditioning and refrigeration systems on a variety of vessels, following manufacturer specifications and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing system issues, performing preventive maintenance, replacing components, charging and recovering refrigerants, and documenting all work performed.
The technician will interact with customers and crew members,
provide clear explanations of work and recommendations, and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams when ordering parts or planning retrofits. The role also involves maintaining tools and equipment in good working order and adhering to environmental and regulatory compliance related to HVAC and refrigeration operations.
Qualifications Experience in marine operations, boat systems, and maritime environments, with the ability to work safely on board vessels.
Background in naval or marine technical work, including familiarity with Navy or commercial maritime standards and procedures.
Training in HVAC and refrigeration systems, including troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of marine equipment.
Knowledge of EPA and relevant environmental regulations related to refrigerants and safe handling practices.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and installation drawings.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to work independently on-site.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with customers, crew, and suppliers in multilingual, international settings.
Relevant technical certification or vocational training in HVAC/R, marine engineering, or a related field; prior experience with marine brands listed is an advantage.
