Job Title: Mechanical Systems Design Engineer
Location: Getafe (Madrid), Airbus Defence and Space
We are looking for a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to join the Medium & Light Aircraft Mechanical System Installation Team. The team is responsible for the design, integration, and management of fluid systems (fuel, hydraulics, environmental control) for new C295 programs and in‑service platforms (CN235, C212). The role will lead digital product innovation, implement LEAN design principles, and manage both technical challenges and engineering teams in production and in‑service environments.
Responsibilities
Design and define mechanical and fluid systems installations based on aircraft architecture requirements.
Develop technical documentation and component specifications for purchasing, and precise manufacturing and assembly instructions.
Manage and coordinate engineering teams, ensuring project deliverables, KPIs, and schedules are successfully met.
Interface with external partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders during design reviews, testing phases, and project meetings.
Support production lines and in‑service aircraft events by troubleshooting and delivering engineering solutions.
Qualifications / Skills
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience: More than 7 years of professional experience in fluid systems installations, including proven experience in team management or technical leadership.
Technical knowledge: Deep knowledge of CATIA, PDM/PLM tools,
and aircraft systems/structures design. Experience in military aeronautical projects is a strong plus.
Languages: Advanced level in English.
Soft skills: Proven team management and leadership capabilities, proactivity, strong communication, and collaborative spirit.
Nice to have: Experience managing in‑service aircraft events, manufacturing support, or readiness for design delegation.
