We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist, who will be responsible for all payroll operational related activities which are processed accurately and on time, while ensuring integrity of financial information, in accordance with internal policies and external statutory regulations for Spain, France, Italy and Belgium. This role is based in our office in Barcelona, with a hybrid working arrangement (3 days onsite, 2 days working from home possible). ES03
Responsibilities
Responsible for the end-to-end payroll processing across for Spain, France, Italy and Belgium via ADP
Process all types of payroll related elements including shift allowances, pensions, and benefits etc
Maintain payroll records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data including but not limited to sickness, vacation, and other accrued leave
Review data feeds from HR system (Workday), ensuring fixed data changes are made in the payroll system and data remains consistent across the two systems
Liaise with regional HRBPs to ensure that all the information needed to process an accurate payroll is received on time
Manage the relationship with the payroll vendor ensuring that the payroll is processed accurately, on time and is always compliant
Review results and work with ADP to make corrections to the system as appropriate
Second review for other payroll team members where required, and back up on other payrolls whilst colleagues are on leave
Work with wider EMEA payroll team to identify improvement areas, establish and maintain global payroll governance framework as well as mitigating risk
Qualifications & Experience
University degree or professional payroll qualification
Business fluent in English and Spanish
Min. 3+ years’ experience in managing multiple country payrolls in Europe
Solid knowledge of payroll in Spain, France, Italy and Belgium
Preferred Diploma in Payroll Management (or working towards)
Strong working knowledge of wage and hour laws, multi-jurisdictional taxes
Strong ethics and the ability to maintain confidential information
Excellent Excel skills, ability to produce pivot tables, using lookups etc
Detail oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to translate complex information into concise and understandable terms
Experience using ADP for payroll processing and Workday time and absence advantageous
“Can do” attitude and a curious mind, keen to be involved in new projects
