Email Meter is a B2B email analytics product used by Enterprise teams at companies like Avery Dennison, Toyota or Fujifilm. We're hiring the person who will run the product day to day. The role is half engineering, half product: you decide what gets built, design it, build a good part of it yourself, and coordinate the developers and data engineers who build the rest.
The strategic direction is set and there's an ambitious roadmap waiting: everything below that line is yours. The two current leads will stay close for context and unblocking, not to approve your decisions. If you've been the "product-minded engineer" on a team and wanted the presente job title, this is that job.
What you'll do
Own the roadmap: prioritize, design features in detail, and decide what ships next.
Build and evolve our analytics platform, built on Django, BigQuery, and LLMs on top of our semantic layer.
Work directly with Customer Success and customers: gather feedback, validate designs before building, communicate what changed and why.
Coordinate the developers and data engineers working on Email Meter, and keep the system healthy in production. What you'll bring
3+ years building customer-facing products at a software company.
Backend experience in Python (Django, FastAPI, or similar).
Frontend experience building SPAs.
Proven product ownership: you've decided what to build, not just how, whatever your title was (product engineer, tech lead, founder, indie hacker).
Product sensibility: you care about UX, speed, and polish.
SQL and comfort with data warehouses (BigQuery or similar).
Self-direction: you can take a feature from idea to shipped without someone driving you.
Professional written English for documentation, specs, and customer communication. Don't rule yourself out. This list describes the ideal candidate, not a checklist. If you've shipped real products and the ownership part sounds like you, apply even if you're missing a bullet or two. We'd rather teach Django to an owner than teach ownership to a Django expert. Nice to have
Semantic layers, BI, or analytics tooling.
Celery or other queue systems at scale; Google Workspace or Microsoft Graph APIs.
LLMs integrated into a real product in production, not demos.
Small, high-ownership teams (startup, scale-up, or your own thing). What we offer
Private health insurance.
Free lunch and drinks when you're in the Madrid office.
Gym, pool, and outdoor class discounts through Gympass.
Compensation range: €30K - €40K
