Offer Description We are offering an exciting position as

Research Technician at the University of Barcelona, to lead and support strategic communication efforts for European research projects within the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine lab (www.bcn-aim.org). This role is key in enhancing the visibility, impact, and outreach of the lab’s cutting‑edge research by translating complex scientific findings into accessible, engaging content for diverse audiences including clinicians, policymakers, patients, media, and the general public.

The Research Technician will act as a bridge between the scientific team and external stakeholders, supporting engagement and knowledge‑transfer strategies aligned with EU project goals and ethical standards.

Requirements

Previous experience managing EU‑funded projects.

Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently to meet deadlines.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.

Experience working in an interdisciplinary research environment.





Strong team spirit and active participation in the lab’s scientific activities.

Experience translating technical/scientific content into public‑friendly formats.

Experience collaborating with local and international project partners, including technical and clinical researchers.

Experience bringing research products into the marketplace.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Excellent knowledge of English (Spanish and Catalan are a plus).

Strong IT skills and experience with R&D; management in European projects.

Proven ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet tight deadlines.

Proactive, adaptable and problem‑solving attitude.

Team player who can also work independently (leading on project deliverables).

Passion for applications of artificial intelligence to biomedicine and health care.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the day‑to‑day implementation of the project and monitor progress across tasks, milestones, and deliverables.

Serve as the link between the PI, researchers, clinicians, and partners.

Support project reporting, meetings, documentation, and communication with the funding body and host institution.





Facilitate collaboration across scientific, clinical, and technical teams involved in the project.

Contribute to dissemination, external relations, and strategic partnerships.

Help bridge the project’s technology toward real‑world adoption, tech transfer, and market opportunities.

The research projects

You will join our AI for cardiology team as part of ongoing projects such as AI4HF (https://www.ai4hf.com/) and DataTools4Heart (https://www.datatools4heart.eu/), funded by the European Commission and coordinated by our lab. These projects develop trustworthy AI solutions for personalised medicine approaches to tailor care models in cardiovascular diseases, focusing on risk assessment and patient management. The projects build on unique big‑data repositories, real‑world hospital data, trustworthy AI methods, computational tools, and clinical results from major EU‑funded projects in cardiology leveraging federated learning.

Collaboration will involve technical and clinical partners across Europe and beyond.

Contract Details

Type of Contract: Temporary, Full‑time (35 hours per week).

Duration: 5 months, renewable up to 31 May 2027.

Gross salary: 39,863.56 € per year.

Offer starting date: 1 November 2026 (estimated; final date subject to contract preparation).
