Reporting To R&D; Team Lead – Robotic Software Engineering

Location Sant Quirze del Vallès, Barcelona, Spain (mandatory)

Role and Responsibilities In this role, you will contribute to technology, software, product, and/or solution development and associated IP. You will serve as the first point of contact in Research and Development for product‑related issues and maintenance, showcase your expertise, and propose innovative solutions.

Key Accountabilities

Set up, manage, and optimize IT infrastructure, hardware, and networks for the new Barcelona office, as well as on‑prem and cloud infrastructure.

Collaborate daily with IT peers in Zurich to ensure seamless technical operations and standardized workflows.

Act as a bridge between local sites and global corporate stakeholders to understand, navigate, and implement ABB Robotics’ corporate IT policies and procedures.

Enforce robust cybersecurity practices and ensure local compliance with global corporate security standards.

Provide hands‑on endpoint management, software provisioning, and day‑to‑day IT support for the local team.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience in IT administration, systems administration, or IT infrastructure.

Valid cybersecurity certification (e.g., ISC2 CISSP, CISM,



CompTIA Security+, or equivalent).

Proven experience setting up and configuring IT infrastructure for new office locations or scaling environments.

Strong understanding of corporate IT policies, governance, and enterprise‑level stakeholder management.

Solid knowledge of networking (firewalls, VPNs, routing), OS deployment, and endpoint management (Linux).

Excellent English communication skills (essential for collaboration with the Zurich team and general stakeholders).

Bonus: experience supporting R&D;, engineering, or robotics environments.
