Our Borrowing team at Monzo is seeking a senior Analytics Engineer to build and maintain a scalable, reliable data warehouse that powers decision‑making across the business.

Responsibilities

- Lead the development and scaling of a high‑performance analytics discipline, establishing industry‑leading data practices.
- Mentor, coach, and develop a small team of 6–7 engineers through regular 1:1s, continuous feedback, and collaboration.
- Aid prioritisation of initiatives and projects, working closely with cross‑collective leads.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews, and contribute to pipelines and data models.
- Support hiring – participate in interviewing and onboarding of new engineers.
- Drive project management for central Analytics Engineering projects, ensuring clear scoping and on‑time delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across collectives to deliver a consistent approach to governance and best practices.
- Own and support pipelines, including on‑call support during off‑hours as required.

Qualifications

- Strong experience in data warehousing architecture at scale.
- Passion for leading data‑warehousing, data visualisation, big‑data or ETL projects as an analyst, developer, designer, or architect.




- Proven track record of hiring and managing high‑performing engineers.
- Comfort with both hands‑on engineering and team leadership.

Nice to Haves

- Experience in finance or banking environments.
- Experience working in highly regulated industries (e.g., finance, insurance, gaming, food, health care).
- Knowledge of dbt, BigQuery, and Looker.
