Role Description The Senior Auditor role is a full-time, on-site position located in Barcelona. This role involves planning and executing audit engagements, including risk assessment, testing internal controls, and performing substantive procedures for a variety of clients.
The Senior
Auditor will review financial statements for accuracy and compliance with applicable standards, identify audit issues, and recommend practical solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising and mentoring junior team members, coordinating fieldwork, preparing audit documentation, and communicating findings to management and clients.
The role also includes collaborating with cross-functional teams, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of auditing standards and regulations, and contributing to process improvements within the firm.
Qualifications
Strong technical auditing and accounting skills, including experience with planning and executing audit engagements and preparing financial statements.
Knowledge of relevant auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices, ideally with exposure to cross-border or international engagements.
Ability to lead and supervise audit teams, mentor junior professionals, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking abilities to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills for client interactions and audit reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is preferred.
Prior experience in public accounting or professional services at the senior or advanced staff level.
Comfort working on-site in Barcelona and collaborating with international teams; proficiency in English required, additional language skills are an advantage.
