Senior Clinical Development Medical Director (Level 6)

Salary Range: €85,100.00 – €158,100.00

Overview The Senior Clinical Development Medical Director will lead the end‑to‑end strategy and execution of assigned renal clinical development program(s) across the full Research, Development and Commercial continuum. The role requires hands‑on expertise in both early and late phase renal drug development, translating emerging data into a clear clinical and regulatory pathway, driving delivery in a integral matrix, and ensuring rigorous benefit‑risk decision making throughout the program lifecycle.

Responsibilities

- Provide clinical leadership and strategic medical input for all clinical deliverables in the assigned project or section of a clinical program.

- Lead the development of clinical sections of trial and program‑level regulatory documents.

- Drive execution of the assigned clinical program and/or clinical trial in partnership with global line functions, Global Trial Directors, and regional/country medical associates where applicable.

- Support the Global Program Clinical Head in ensuring overall safety of the molecule for the assigned section and act as a core member of the Safety Management Team.

- Support the Clinical Development Head by providing medical input into Clinical Development Plan, Integrated Development Plan, and Clinical Trial Protocol reviews, and contribute to the development of disease‑specific clinical standards.

- Serve as a medical expert supporting the Global Program Clinical Head or Clinical Development Head in interactions with external and internal stakeholders and decision boards.

- Collaborate with Biomedical Research/Translational Medical Sciences to drive transition of pre‑PoC projects to Development Decision Point, and with Business Development & Licensing on target identification, due diligence, and other medical matters as needed.

Qualifications





- MD or equivalent medical degree with advanced knowledge and clinical training in the relevant medical/scientific area.

- Minimum of 4years of clinical practice experience (including residency) and board certification or eligibility in the disease area (preferred).

- Minimum 10years of experience in clinical research or drug development spanning PhaseI–IV activities.

- Working knowledge of the renal disease area with proven ability to interpret, discuss, and present efficacy and safety data and understand scientific research reports.

- Proven ability to establish effective scientific partnerships with key stakeholders.

- Working knowledge of GCP, clinical trial design, statistics, and regulatory and clinical development processes.

- Previous global people‑management experience is preferred;

experience in a matrix environment satisfies this requirement.
