Rover is looking for a senior product designer to join our team in Barcelona. The designer will work in partnership with cross‑functional teams to influence strategy and deliver engaging and intuitive experiences for our community of users across web, iOS, and Android platforms.
Hybrid position with minimal on‑site requirement: two days per week in the Barcelona office. Candidates must be based in Barcelona or willing to relocate.
Responsibilities
Work hand‑in‑hand with product managers and engineers to establish product requirements, roadmaps, and user experiences.
Run workshops and collaborate with product management to identify and define strategic product‑investment opportunities aligned with key objectives.
Partner with the UX Research team to conduct user and usability testing throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Employ a human‑centered design approach, blending psychological insights, data, and user research to guide design decisions.
Consistently integrate empathy and user insights into daily interactions, championing the voice of our users.
Take full ownership of projects, actively seeking and incorporating feedback from peers, stakeholders and customers to improve the community’s experience.
Create engaging customer experiences from concept to engineering‑ready deliverables.
Work collaboratively with designers to develop and refine the design system.
Help shape the platform’s long‑term vision and user experience as part of the dedicated and dynamic design team.
Establish and track customer experience metrics for your projects, ensuring alignment with our goals.
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in UX/Product design.
Track record of proven customer and business outcomes.
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and other prototyping software.
Experience across web, mobile web, and native apps.
Ability to consolidate stakeholder views and achieve aligned objectives.
Strong collaborative work with creatives and excellent critical thinking skills.
Data‑driven design approach, comfortable using metrics to inform decisions.
In‑depth knowledge of UXR research methodologies and partnership with a research team.
Advocacy for lean design processes.
Excellent communication skills with stakeholders, ability to manage expectations, and gracefully receive feedback.
Commitment to producing high‑quality, polished, professional work.
Bachelor’s degree in human‑computer interaction, user experience design, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Proactive in identifying opportunities and proposing solutions within the team.
Preferred
Experience with a two‑sided marketplace.
