About the role: As a Senior Structural Engineer you will contribute to design, analysis and documentation efforts, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and project requirements. This is a full-time job.
You will report to the Commodity Support Design manager and be located at our HQ in San Sebastián de los Reyes. This is a hybrid position.
Main Responsibilities
Complete independent engineering tasks and assume technical responsibility for assigned projects.
Review and verify engineering work performed by others, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards.
Develop detailed specifications, technical reports, calculations, and sizing analyses.
Originate and validate engineering deliverables including drawings, design reviews, change control documents, and calculation notes.
Ensure all work complies with applicable engineering codes, standards, and internal procedures.
Collaborate within the general Westinghouse Engineering framework, engaging with senior engineers, provide guidance to Junior engineer and designers, and international teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in a Structural Engineering discipline.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Structural Engineering roles within the nuclear sector. We also value experience in energy, oil and gas, civil construction, or similar industries.
Experience with structural design principles and experience producing high-quality technical documentation.
Command of engineering codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks,
including: Structural Eurocodes and Spanish Structural Code.
Familiarity with nuclear-related standards such as AISC, ASME, ASCE, and NRC guidelines.
Work with technical standards and regulations in English.
Proficiency in engineering software tools such as GTStrudl, SAP2000 or RFEM.
Valued/desired experience in the structural assessment of bolted and welded joints
Fluent in both written and spoken Spanish and English.
Knowledge of Project Management processes.
