About the Role Position: Sourcing Manager – Advanced Sensor Technologies (Sant Cugat, Spain) We at Global Diagnostics Procurement (DOP) are a team of about 200 enthusiastic professionals, committed to driving value with our suppliers worldwide. From locations around the world and with a diverse and multicultural team, we source, manage our supplier base, develop & execute category strategies and constantly develop & digitize processes that enable us to best support our business to grow sustainably. As our Sourcing Manager in Sant Cugat, Spain, you will execute end-to-end tactical procurement within our Near Patient Care (NPC), Sensors & Cartridges, and External Manufacturing (EM) portfolios.
In this role, you will elevate standard transactional requests into strategic, value‑add opportunities, drive bottom‑line cost savings, and ensure global supply reliability.
Reporting Line The position directly reports to the Sourcing Lead – NPC, Sensors & Cartridges, and EM, and is part of the Procurement Center of Excellence (Co E).
Key Stakeholders
Partners with DOP Category, DOP Delivery, RSS Demand to Pay, global operations stakeholders, and external suppliers/contract manufacturers to resolve administrative bottlenecks and inform future strategies.
Responsibilities Execute global sourcing activities, standard processes (Rf Is, Rf Qs, Rf Ps), and market benchmarking for on‑market products and New Product Introductions (NPI). Analyze user requirements to identify value‑driving methods, aggregate global demand to maximize leverage, and elevate non‑standard requests to Category Management. Develop comprehensive project plans (timelines, milestones, resources), participate in project teams, and proactively identify and mitigate risks to objectives.
Set up template‑based contracts (such as CDAs and SOWs) and manage their full lifecycle, including repository tracking and potential renewals or improvements. Utilize enterprise tools (SAP, my Buy) to simplify new and existing workflows,
manage purchasing documentation, and ensure strict compliance with general procurement policies. Track and deliver on key operational targets and customer service metrics (such as cycle times) while championing supplier diversity, sustainability, and ethical practices.
Manage process expectations and competing activity priorities, while presenting regular KPI and project updates to the Sourcing Lead and global stakeholders.
Qualifications A University degree (Business or Life Sciences preferred) is required; an MBA or CIPS certification is highly desirable. 3–5+ years in sourcing, specializing in tactical sourcing (spot buying) and contract management, with a proven track record of driving cost‑reduction initiatives. Relevant procurement experience within direct categories in the medical device, healthcare, or high‑tech manufacturing sectors, with hands‑on knowledge or strong exposure to Near Patient Care (NPC) technology, Sensor technology, Cartridge production, or working with External Manufacturers (EM). Advanced knowledge in AI application and a strong affinity to explore AI‑driven solutions broadly, particularly regarding the digital transformation of operations (Digital 2.0 / Industry 4.0).
Strong, hands‑on experience with Enterprise Systems (specifically SAP), Procure‑to‑Pay (P2 P) workflows, e Sourcing/e Auction platforms, and BI tools like Tableau. An analytical problem‑solver with a strong customer‑service focus. You excel at translating complex business needs into clear, compliant procurement specifications while managing project timelines and navigating conflicting priorities.
Business‑level fluency in English is required; Spanish and German language skills are a strong asset.
