Overview

Structural & Mechanical Design Engineer (MDE) responsible for developing design proposals, specifications, submittal drawings, production drawings and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost implications, and maintenance requirements for Prefabricated Modular Data Centers. The MDE identifies project requirements, provides design solutions that meet customer and site needs, and protects the customer’s best interests throughout the project. The role requires a diversified portfolio of technical skills, including knowledge of structural design, Revit, Autodesk Robots, Teckla, CREO, and finite element analysis.

Responsibilities

Tender Phase

Program the project with the customer or representative to understand and document owner’s requirements. Influence solutions and understand local codes and ordinances. Revise structural designs during tendering stages, guide solutions, and develop design documents to support the proposal.

Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests. Prepare and update quotation templates, including technical specifications for the region. Validate designs from third‑party integrators/vendors to meet project and customer expectations.

Factory/Commissioning Support (Barcelona facility):

Design review and approval for third‑party solutions for ISO and non‑ISO structures.



Design mechanical and structural elements of prefabricated buildings. Validate structural steel frames per applicable building codes. Create documentation (manufacturing drawings, calculation notes, transportation and lifting documentation, testing procedures).

Factory/Commissioning Support (other facilities):

Validate designs from third‑party factories/suppliers. Support engineering requests from teams, factory, commissioning, sub‑contractors, services, and site support. Contribute to team efforts to achieve related results as needed.

Travel to customer sites to support technical resolution. Participate in offer safety related meetings. Skills & Capabilities

Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional societies. Work on international projects under various local regulations, seismic compliance, and other standards. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, CREO, Teckla, and Robots. Qualifications

Structural or mechanical engineering degree. Minimum 3 years of structural and mechanical design experience in steel constructions. Good English speaking, written, and verbal skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Capability to work in a multi‑discipline engineering environment.
