We are currently seeking an Investment Counselor to join our team in Madrid focusing on the Iberian market. You will closely collaborate with our Private Bankers to provide investment services to Citi’s European ultra-high new worth clients and family offices.
The role will involve advising clients on asset allocation and how to implement it via multiple solutions (capital markets and/or managed solutions) using broad range of traditional (liquid) and alternative (illiquid) asset classes. Citi Private Bank has an extensive, general investment product platform, and the Investment Counselor acts as the primary conduit to it.
This role is one done in very close partnership with the coverage team (banker and associate banker), as well as our investment specialists, risk and compliance partners. The objective is to deliver agreed sales goals within the overall framework of the Citi Private Bank business strategy and operating model.
Key Responsibilities
- Investment counselors joining Citi Private Bank will be distinguished and highly accomplished at establishing,



growing and managing investment relationships with ultra-high net worth clients and single family offices. These are defined as AUM of $25MM or more with Citi Private Bank.
- They should be experienced in the implementation and oversight of investment solutions, and in providing advice and guidance on markets and actionable investment ideas.
- Appropriate candidates will possess the credibility to cultivate trusting relationships with existing ultra-high net worth clients of Citi Private Bank, and should be entrepreneurial and supportive of bringing in new clients/investment relationships.
- Candidates for the position should be collaborative and team oriented, able to leverage a wide array of internal partners.
