About The Job Based at Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona within the

Engineering Department , the

Maintenance Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure that all hotel facilities, equipment, and technical systems operate efficiently and safely. The Maintenance Technician reports to the

Chief Engineer / Engineering Supervisor .

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks across hotel facilities.

Diagnose and resolve issues related to electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and masonry.

Conduct regular inspections to ensure the proper condition and functionality of equipment and installations.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and incidents reported by different hotel departments.





Coordinate and collaborate with external contractors and service providers when required.

Keep accurate and up‑to‑date maintenance records using established management systems.

Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental, and operational regulations.

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and optimal condition of technical areas, workshops, and storage spaces.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to hotel facilities and equipment.

Qualifications

Strong technical and problem‑solving skills across multiple disciplines (electrical, mechanical, etc.).

Previous experience in hotel maintenance or a similar role (minimum 2 years preferred).

Basic knowledge of maintenance management systems.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

High level of responsibility, reliability, and attention to detail.

Flexibility and availability to work shifts if required.

Good communication skills and service‑oriented mindset.

Basic English language skills.
