Overview
We are offering an exciting PhD position at the University of Barcelona within the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Lab (BCN-AIM, directed by Prof. Karim Lekadir and hosted within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting‑edge research on trustworthy artificial intelligence for youth mental health as part of the Horizon Europe YOUTHreach project.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement machine learning and AI models for the early identification and prediction of mental health risks in young people.
- Develop multimodal AI methods integrating clinical, behavioural, environmental, psychosocial, and other relevant data sources.
- Investigate trustworthy AI methodologies, including fairness, explainability, uncertainty estimation, robustness, and generalisability.
