Overview
Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca is looking for a Help Cook to join our Culinary Team. Based at Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, as the Help Cook, you will be responsible for supporting the Chef in the preparation and creation of various dishes. This position ensures that the kitchen operates efficiently and that high-quality food is consistently produced.

Responsibilities
- Ingredient Preparation: Wash, peel, cut, and chop vegetables, as well as prepare meats and other proteins.
- Maintaining Cleanliness and Order: Keep workstations clean and organized, and clean surfaces after each use.
- Assisting in Cooking: Help in the preparation of dishes by following the chef's instructions.
- Stock Management: Check food stock levels and assist in ordering supplies.
- Adhering to Hygiene and Safety Standards:



Ensure compliance with health and food safety regulations.

Qualifications
Experience and education
- High school culinary diploma or equivalent

Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food handling.
- Ability to execute and maintain consistency in the daily menu, ensuring all dishes meet high-quality standards.
- Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Experience managing inventory, controlling stock levels, and minimizing food waste.
- Capability to monitor the quality of food production and ensure all dishes are prepared according to set standards.
- Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines during peak service hours.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with kitchen staff and other departments.
