Zego Insurance Limited (ZIL) is a Gibraltar-based motor insurer, authorised and regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission. We provide underwriting capacity to our group MGA, Extracover Ltd, across personal and commercial motor lines in the UK. We’re growing our compliance function and looking for someone at the start of their career who wants to learn the craft of insurance compliance from the ground up.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Compliance & Regulatory, the Compliance Manager will be responsible for the hands‑on delivery of compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting, and policy maintenance across ZIL’s operations. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who can operate independently, apply sound judgement across a broad regulatory landscape, and act as a trusted second pair of eyes on regulatory matters. You’ll work closely with the Head of Compliance on GFSC and FCA‑facing activity, and will be expected to own workstreams end‑to‑end.
What You’ll Be Doing




- Compliance monitoring - Own and execute the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan, including thematic reviews, sample testing, and control effectiveness assessments across underwriting, claims, distribution, and outsourcing.
- Regulatory reporting and submissions - Prepare and coordinate regulatory returns, notifications, and ad‑hoc submissions to the GFSC and, where relevant, support FCA‑related reporting through the MGA oversight framework.
- Policy and procedure maintenance - Draft, review, and update compliance policies and procedures to reflect regulatory change, business developments, and audit findings. Ensure version control and communication to the business.
- Consumer Duty and conduct risk - Support the Head of Compliance in monitoring fair value assessments, product governance obligations (PROD 4), complaints trends, and outcomes testing. Maintain the Consumer Duty evidence framework.
