We're looking for a leader who is already fluent in this way of working and can shape it further.
We are looking for a Principal Engineer – Architect to serve as the most senior engineering leader within Sklum Digital & AI, owning the end-to-end architecture of our customer-facing platform — shaping how millions of customers discover, explore, and interact with Sklum across web and mobile.
The role spans the full customer-facing stack: the experience layer (React/Next.js and React Native), the integration layer connecting experience to enterprise systems, and the backend services that power it. This is a builder role — equally comfortable setting a multi-year technical vision and jumping into the codebase to prototype, review, or unblock.
What you'll be doing
- Own the end-to-end architecture of Sklum's customer-facing platform across web and mobile
- Define the target architecture connecting experience, integration, and backend into a coherent, scalable whole
- Establish architectural standards and guardrails that let teams move fast without accruing unsustainable debt
- Make build-vs-buy decisions and design how external systems are extended to fit Sklum's needs
Hands-On Technical Leadership
- Write production code, prototype new capabilities, and contribute to critical paths when required
- Drive technical design reviews, code reviews, and architecture decision records (ADRs) across teams
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability, and security bottlenecks across the platform
