The IMDEA Networks Institute offers one fully funded PhD position in the area of Localization of non-collaborative transmitters and their pattern of movements. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing activities of the Pervasive Wireless Systems Group, in the framework of MSCA SpecX Project.
Research objectives:
Feature extraction and distributed algorithms to localise any wireless transmitter in mobile environments that does not collaborate (passive positioning), and its implementation in cellular infrastructure. Extraction of analytics from multiple target users.

The position requires:
- an MSc degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fields, with a solid academic record
- excellent programming skills
- experience in wireless communication, embedded systems, hardware design, signal processing
- fluency in written and spoken English
- enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of recruitment:
- Mobility Rule: Candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date.
- Research Experience: Candidates must have less than 4 years of full‑time research experience after obtaining the degree that gives access to a PhD.
