In this role, you will join our Bystronic Software team. With our software solutions, developed specifically for the sheet metal processing industry, we enable companies to digitize their entire processes - from the initial quote to the final delivery.
We are looking for a Software Engineer with experience in PLC development and industrial automation. This role supports the design, development and integration of automation solutions within smart machinery for sheet metal manufacturing.
What you will be doing
- Design,
program and test PLC-based control systems for industrial machinery.
- Develop and maintain automation architectures aligned with project specifications.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical and software teams to ensure successful system integration.
- Provide support in commissioning and testing activities in lab and field environments.
- Support multiple ongoing projects, ensuring timely delivery and issue resolution.
- Act as a technical reference to unblock complex mechatronic projects when needed.
Your education & experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation, Electronics, Industrial Engineering or a similar technical field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in PLC software development.
- Solid hands-on experience with one or more PLC platforms.
What you need to succeed
- Knowledge of Beckhoff TwinCAT, B&R;, Siemens TIA Portal or similar PLC platforms.
- Understanding of fieldbus systems and protocols such as Profinet, E
