Industrial Means Engineer Opportunity within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid) as part of the Industrial Means team in the Manufacturing Engineering department.
The role involves working with cross?disciplinary engineers to design, build and deliver critical production assets for launcher components and satellites.
Accountabilities
Manage industrial means packages (tooling, MGSE, machines or autonomous systems) for entire programs, delivering on time, within cost and quality.
Responsible for design, coordination and execution of tooling and MGSE for manufacturing, machining, assembly, test, ground operations and transport of launchers and satellite products.
Attend customer meetings (ESA, Ariane, etc.) and interact with local or international suppliers; occasional travel may be required.
Ensure stakeholder needs are met, integrating inputs from Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Health and Safety, Engineering, Quality and Logistics.
Adapt to ramp?up profiles and serial part sequencing regarding operation percentages and takt adherence targets.
Ensure preventive maintenance activities are defined and ready before production service entry.
Support maintenance and production departments with technical expertise for reliability.
Deliver ergonomic and safe means to production or customers.
Assist program activities including master and detailed planning, proposals, capital planning and budgets.
Tasks
Manage call for tenders covering technical, financial, quality, supply chain and strategic aspects.
Create technical specifications for industrial means ranging from simple tools to autonomous systems.




Evaluate supplier proposals and perform down?selection based on technical and economic criteria.
Manage acquisition milestones (KOM, PDR, CDR, CISS, CIPS and FA) through design analysis, stress analysis, FMAs, verifications and tests.
Use CAD to generate concepts and GD&T; analyses.
Manage suppliers to ensure OT, OQ, OC deliverables.
Assess H&S; and ergonomics of supplier solutions.
Conduct troubleshooting, failure analysis and analytical thinking.
Facilitate brainstorming sessions to resolve complex requirements.
Provide workshop support for the first use of delivered means.
Set up and commission new manufacturing/assembly stations meeting stakeholder requirements.
Modify existing means to meet new constraints and requirements.
Required Skills
Degree level (or equivalent) in engineering.
5?10 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing and tooling.
Design for manufacturing expertise.
Experience with a tooling supplier.
Knowledge of tooling manufacturing processes.
GD&T; and tolerances analysis.
Stress analysis skills (thermal desirable).
Automation and metrology skills (CMM, laser tracker basics) desirable.
Health and safety and ergonomics knowledge.
Familiarity with CE directives applicable to industrial means.
Project management skills.
Negotiation level English and Spanish.




High knowledge of CATIA.
Experience designing mass?efficient structures.
Experience in a production facility.
Experience managing large assembly models and drawings.
Dynamic, proactive and adaptable under pressure.
Willingness to improve processes and procedures for quality.
Additional Requirements
Willing to travel nationally up to 20% of the time.
Willing to travel internationally to meet customers and suppliers.
