Job Overview
We are seeking a Receptionist to support the Front Office Manager in managing the reception desk and ensuring smooth room bookings. Responsibilities include welcoming guests, handling reservations and inquiries, managing complaints, processing cash, and addressing ad hoc requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Check guests in and out courteously, verifying payment methods and updating guest profiles.
- Greet guests and provide an outstanding level of service, informing them of hotel facilities and services.
- Handle reservations made online or via telephone and manage room assignments.
- Perform front desk administrative duties, including answering phone calls and coordinating with other departments.
- Support the Front Office Manager in daily operations and maximizing room occupancy using upselling techniques.
- Provide guidance to Receptionists and ensure smooth front desk operations.
- Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and efficiently.
- Coordinate transport and other guest services as requested.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with hotel policies, including banking and payment procedures.
- Stay informed about hotel room categories, rates, packages, promotions, and market trends.
- Assist other departments as needed to enhance guest experience.
Role Requirements
- Previous experience as a Receptionist or in a customer-focused role.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in team management and delegation.
- Strong time management, organisational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish (written and spoken); knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Guest-oriented with a positive, proactive, and adaptable attitude.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Competent in IT and hotel property management systems.
- Experience in cash handling and following financial procedures.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Professional appearance and grooming standards.
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and take on additional tasks as needed.
