Overview:
We are seeking a Pre-Compliance Engineer to join our dynamic R&D; organization, focusing on life safety products (ASD – Aspirated Smoke Detection / fire detection systems).
In this role, you will ensure that our designs are validated against international compliance standards (EN54, UL, NFPA, FM, IEC, CE, UKCA, etc.) at the earliest stages, reducing risk and accelerating certification and market launch. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability of mission-critical systems that protect lives.

Key responsibilities:





- Define test plans and acceptance criteria aligned with EN54, UL, NFPA, and IEC standards.
- Conduct pre-compliance testing of fire detection and life safety devices in internal labs, including functional testing, based on fire standards requirements.
- Coordinate pre-compliance testing with the internal test resources the execution of:
- EMC/EMI (radiated & conducted emissions, immunity).
- Electrical safety (insulation, surge, dielectric withstand).
- Environmental & reliability (temperature, humidity, vibration, corrosion).
- Provide early design validation in collaboration with hardware, firmware and mechanical teams, integrating compliance requirements into PCB design, enclosures, shielding, and grounding.
- Prepare technical reports and communicate to the product desig,n to define the product maturity and readiness for agency submittal.
- Provide onsite support and act as liaison with external laboratories (UL, VdS, LPCB, AENOR, TÜV, Applus, etc.).
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for test failures.

Key requirements:

- University degree in Electronic/Telecoms/Engineering (or similar).
- Min. 3 years of working experience in a similar role (pre-compliance, field applications, technical support, etc.) in technical portfolio; Fire security / security experience will be a strong advantage.
- Fluent English, both spoken and written.
- Spanish command is not a requirement, however will be seen as an advantage.
- Great communication skills, ability to effectively communicate on various organizational levels, equally to external bodies.
- Proactive, driving things, responsible.
- Willingness to travel (approximately 30% of the time).
